Spar Brand is responding to trends in the market, with the launch of two zero sugar colas.

Available now, Spar Classic Cola Zero Sugar in 500ml and 2ltr formats (rrp 59p/89p) tap into consumer demand for sugar-free variants.

This launch is bang on-trend especially ahead of the government’s sugar tax, which comes into effect in April.

Across Spar Brand’s wider carbonated soft drinks range, the group has reformulated its products and introduced new lines. In total, Spar has removed 168 tonnes of sugar from its lines since 2016.

Cath McIlwham, Spar UK head of brand, said: “These two new lines are giving Spar shoppers more choice in great-tasting soft drinks, with zero sugar – and all at excellent value prices.

“The launches give us at Spar the chance to lead the symbol group market in a category that is core to convenience retailers – all while keeping pace with the ever-changing market.”
