Roberts Bakery is launching The Ultimate Brioche Rolls to capitalise on the trend for sweet and savoury flavour combinations.

The firm said burgers remain the number one item on restaurant menus (The NPD Group / CREST UK). And their popularity is marked by a 135% increase in the number of gourmet burger outlets between 2012 and 2015 (Horizons Source: Horizons Menu Trends Report) - in the majority of which, brioche rolls are often the premium roll of choice.

To match these same quality restaurant flavours and textures, The Ultimate Brioche Rolls (rrp £1.49 per four-pack) are made with British butter and free-range eggs from the British Isles.

Tim Wild, the brand’s commercial director, said: “We set out to create a premium quality product for the rolls category with the launch of The Ultimate Brioche Rolls. At the same time, we’re giving consumers a delicious product to make the most of popular food trends in their own home.

“The Ultimate Brioche Rolls are an aspirational product that allows consumers to create the weekend eating out treat – and the dining experience that brings – without leaving the house.

“And they not only help make great gourmet burgers, they’re also the perfect roll to make all hot breakfast and lunchtime sandwiches a bit more special.”
