Mars Chocolate is launching a truffle variant of its Galaxy Gift For You (rrp: 65p) for Christmas 2012. The part solid chocolate, part truffle treat is the only new self-eat to be launched this yule from the top three confectionery giants. The truffle Gift will be available alongside last year’s big Mars launch, the caramel Gift, which helped the firm’s Christmas self-eat category experience a 60% growth rate in 2011.

The firm is also introducing a new Galaxy Luxury Selection Box (rrp: £4.29), featuring the Gift, Minstrels, and Caramel, Ripple, Bubbles and milk chocolate bars.

Meanwhile, festive Celebrations packs have been revamped for 2012 to highlight an ‘8 famous brands message’. The number one Twistwrap brand is available in multiple formats, from sharing tins, to stocking filler mini boxes.
