Lotus Bakeries is carrying out a precautionary product recall on Lotus Biscoff Crunchy Biscuit Spread 380g jars.

There is a risk that metal particles may have found their way into the product.

Lotus Bakeries requests that all retailers stocking this SKU remove it from their shelves with immediate effect and requests that consumers who have purchased the affected jars do not eat it.

Affected Batch Codes: 7005109, 7011209, 7019109, 7030309, 7039109, 7046109

Affected Best Before: 05/02/2018, 11/02/2018, 19/02/2018, 28/02/2018, 08/03/2018, 15/03/2018

This product was sold at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrison’s, Waitrose, Ocado and Nisa.

The firm has notified the FSA of this incident. No other product in the Lotus Bakeries Spreads range is affected.

Lotus Bakeries decided to recall the batches the affected product after being informed by the co-manufacturer - to whom the task of filling the product is outsourced - that during a certain period, their metal detection was not adjusted for sufficient precision.
