Brancott Estate is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its Sauvignon Blanc vines with a new 2015 vintage and limited edition bottle.
The company has launched its Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015 as well as a new limited edition bottle (rrp £10.99) which pays homage to its pioneering heritage.
The Brancott Estate limited edition bottles will feature a new label highlighting the anniversary.
Brancott Estate chief winemaker Patrick Materman said: “The 2015 growing season was a real reminder of just how young and pioneering the Marlborough wine industry is.
“We had the driest conditions in 85 years and, given the fact that we’ve only been growing grapes in the region for 40 years, we were working with conditions we have never encountered before.
”Happily, the weather worked in our favour throughout the season and we’ve ended up with a vintage of exceptional quality and concentration of flavours. After four decades, we are still exploring the potential of our vineyards and are excited to see what we discover in the next 40 years.”
Pernod Ricard UK head of wine & champagne Toni Ingram said: “Brancott Estate has been a brand of many firsts and as the pioneer of the New Zealand wine category and the first winery to plant Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc in 1975, continues to go from strength to strength.
“To support the introduction of our new limited edition bottle and 2015 vintage, we will also be launching a nationwide media campaign consisting of compelling out of home activation and digital media to drive awareness of Brancott Estate’s 40th anniversary.”
