Forecourt operator Jos Richardson & Son has purchased its sixth site in Middleton, North Yorkshire.

The Middleton Service Station features an Esso fuel station and 2,000 sq ft. Londis convenience store, which joins the company’s existing forecourt portfolio.

The family business also owns Glews Service Station in Goole, Longs Corner Garage in Howden, York Road Garage in Escrick as well as Filey and Primrose Valley Service Stations on the East Coast.

Commenting on the Middleton site, managing director Joseph Richardson said We are delighted that this purchase has been finalised. Middleton Service Station is in a great location and has a lot of potential. We plan to start re-development works on the forecourt and upgrade the store later this year.”

The previous owner of the Middleton Service Station, Brian Charlton, ran the fuel station and c-store for more than 20 years.

Twelve full-time and part-time staff are employed at the site, all of which will be retained as part of the purchase. The Middleton Londis generates sales of £1.5m per annum (inc VAT).

Joseph added: “The site has a good local reputation and we want to continue offering the people of Middleton and surrounding areas the highest standards of customer service and value. We look forward to working with the existing team to achieve this”
