Martin McColl is still on the acquisition trail despite landing 92 Smile stores last month.
General manager marketing Paul Taylor told C-Store that the group would like to add more c-stores, post offices and, in the right circumstances, newsagents to its estate, as well as intending to convert many of its newsagents to its convenience format.
He said: "Our main direction is down the c-store route, but that wouldn't stop us from buying a chain of newsagents or an independent if the price was right. Tobacco has been great for us and news is a huge part of our business.
"We've acquired about 50 independents recently, we run more post offices than the Post Office itself, and we are keen to acquire more."
