Hancocks is to open a 16,000sq ft confectionery cash and carry in Liverpool later this month, just in time for the Christmas rush.
Hancocks CEO Andrew Hancock said he was confident the depot would further strengthen the business.
“We know that there is a great deal of confectionery business in the Liverpool area, a small amount of which we have already seen in our Manchester branch,” he said.
The company also revealed that Richard Brittle was to retire from his position as purchasing director at Hancocks on September 26, after 40 years with the company.
