Family-run independent store Dike & Son in Stalbridge, Dorset, has hit new customer service heights with the launch a complete online weekly shopping and delivery service.
The team have spent three years developing the website, which offers next-day home delivery to local postcodes, as well as click and collect.
The website was developed by digital agency Strawberry Soup, working closely with director Adam Vincent and other members of the team.
It integrates several independent systems, such as the tills, payment software, stock and the front end of the website. To launch the service, the team had to write descriptions for about 15,000 different products and set up a photographic studio in which to take pictures of them all.
Dike & Son also invested in a fleet of refrigerated vans to make deliveries.
Managing director Andy Dike said: “My father William used to hate watching Tesco delivery vans driving past and swore he would one day be able to compete with online shopping. Sadly he passed away before his dream was realised, but we are proud we can now offer a complete online shopping service to our customers.”
