Midlands Co-op is extending a home-grown scheme that allows customers to buy sealed packs of Euros.
The project was trialled at its Bakewell, North Wingfield and Oundle stores - chosen because each is in an an area bereft of travel shops. The scheme will now be adopted by 14 more Midlands Co-op stores.
To buy a pack of the Euros, customers request what denomination they want at the store’s till and a supervisor retrieves them from a safe.
