The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has revealed that it will announce the findings of its investigations into the news-paper and magazine supply chains in late summer.
The OFT is conducting three separate reviews of the news industry, but will now report all three together. They include a request to consider referring the market to the Competition Commission, and a review of the industry's Code of Practice.
National Federation of Retail Newsagents trade relations manager David Daniel said: "The decision to publish its three-strand review simultaneously confirms the OFT's understanding that the separate issues it is reviewing are interlinked and require a holistic approach to get a total understanding of how the industry operates."
