Independent retailer Peter Lamb is hoping to sell more than 100 android tablets in one day when he launches a dramatic pre-Christmas promotion on December 7.

Peter, who started selling the seven inch tablets in his Lambs Larder convenience store in Bells Yew Green, Sussex, as a side-line last month, says that sales have taken off with around 30 sold in the last three weeks alone.

Prices range from £89.95 to £149.95, and on December 7 Peter will also be sweetening the deal with a free 32G memory stick.

“The appetite for these tablets is huge, particularly at this time of year, and the margins are excellent. It just goes to show what can be achieved when you think outside of the box a little,” he said.

Peter has also launched an e book on how to run a successful convenience store.

‘So, You want to run a Convenience Store’ is a step by step guide to successfully operating a store, complete with do’s and don’ts and hints and tips on how to maximise profit and preserve cash flow.

“With the global economy spiralling out of control and many high paid executives losing their jobs, convenience store ownership looks like a good option to many,” he said.

“Whilst owning a convenience store can be rewarding, it is also fraught with danger and many people will lose their shirt if they go into a venture of this type blind. I wish I had access to this book when starting out.”
