The Campbell’s Eurospar store in Banbridge is marking 25 years in business by celebrating with the local community.
The store, owned and operated by Brian and Berenice Campbell, first opened in 2001 with 28 employees, but has now grown to employ 68 people from the local area.
In 2015 the store underwent a major refurbishment, transforming into a modern Eurospar supermarket, and they say they’ve never looked back. Since then, the Campbell family has continued to invest significantly in the store, delivering further upgrades, services and products for shoppers.
To mark the anniversary, the team are giving away £4k as a thank you to shoppers, with four £1k weekly winners every Friday, which started on 21 September.
Charity giving
Over the years the team have also raised money for numerous organisations, including Tearfund, Newry Hospice and Cancer Fund for Children, as well as supporting local sports clubs, community groups and schools.
Funded by the community, an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is also installed outside the store, maintained by Campbell’s Eurospar.
Store manager, Paul McArdle, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be celebrating this anniversary. As a community focused store, it was important to us to celebrate alongside our shoppers and show our appreciation for all their support over the years.
Strong relationship
“Brian and Berenice have built a strong relationship with our shoppers over the years and their commitment to the local community has played a key role in the store’s reputation and success.
“We’d like to thank our fantastic store team and our loyal customers for their continued support, and we look forward to serving the community for many years to come.”
Richard Ash, sales director at Henderson Group, which owns the Eurospar brand in Northern Ireland, concluded: “We wish to congratulate the Campbell family and the entire team on 25 years of their store and 11 years as a Eurospar. They’re such an integral part of their local community and it’s great to see them celebrating alongside shoppers.”
