so why are supermarkets pursuing self check out ? here is my take . the supermarkets by installing self checkouts are saving 3 times the amount . 1/3 may go into theft but they still better off by 2/3 .

so you ask how are they saving these amounts of money ?

the saving they are making is in staff wages , holidays . sick pay ,employer contributions , pension contribution .

as every retailer is aware even at rate of paying £7.50 an hour , you true cost is £9.66 per hour .
