this is a regressive step . from a personal experience as retailer of 30 yrs , I had one staff who went sick for 6 months and during that period tried to unpick many issues . my gut feeling was that she was trying for tribunal compensation so used an employment solicitor to handle all communications . it cost me over 1000 pounds but the employee resigned after her sick period was over !! and one has to remember that nowadays you have to pay sick pay out of your pocket .
