Hmm... I see that my fellow readers have a very blinkered view on the EU.

At some point our domestic government would have opted for some kind of similar legislation anyway, it's just that EU has sped the process up a little.

Should you buy in tobacco/cigarettes from an IT/JTI/BAT rep you will AT MOST be making 10%. Why are we fussing about a dying market? Smoking is becoming more and more unfashionable and socially unacceptable. As retailers we should be looking at progressive solutions to these problems, such as those detailed in the article.

Why are you worried about losing out on sales? EVERYONE is effected by this. Smokers will either keep buying and stick to their old habits or they will give up. Should they give up, I'll estimate that they'll have an extra £20 - £40 a week to spend on products in stores that have some real value.

And frankly, the Donald Trump comment is just backwards. The man is a criminal.
