Haribo is getting into the spirit of Halloween with a new addition to its seasonal range.

Minions Gone Batty is a limited edition product featuring Halloween themed Minion shaped jelly and foam pieces in new flavour combinations - apple and cherry, orange and lime and lemon and blueberry. It has an rrp of £1.

Haribo Horror Mix will be returning for another year, as will Haribo Trick or Treat multipacks.

Available in a 200g pack, which contains eight 25g mini bags and also in a 608g pack that includes 38 mini bags at 16g, the treat includes a selection of Halloween themed gums and jellies.

Harriet Scales, seasonal brand manager for Haribo and Maoam, said: “Halloween is an important driver of sales for confectionery where trick or treating is without doubt the biggest purchase and usage occasion.

“Here value and formats are hugely important as shoppers look for multipacks of portion controlled treats that are well-liked.”

Also suitable for trick or treating and capitalising upon the success of all year round products during Halloween is the Share The Fun Tub, which contains mini bags of Starmix, Tangfastics and Super Mix.

The product experienced growth of 35.1% and made up 19% of Haribo and Maoam’s value sales during last year’s Halloween period.

“Parties and self-treating have a positive impact on confectionery sales during Halloween,” says Scales.

“As Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, we expect trick or treating and parties to grow in popularity. Products that are fit for these purposes should certainly be a must stock for retailers.”
