Gums and jellies producer Haribo has expanded its Easter offering with Jelly Bunnies and Chick ‘n’ Mix.

Available in a 160g bag, the Jelly Bunnies are similar in texture to Jelly Babies. They are targeted at both treat and sharing occasions and retail at £1.

Chick ‘n’ Mix is a selection of marshmallow flowers, bunny shaped jellies, tangy chicks and fried egg treats, suitable for Easter gifting. The 232g chick-themed gift box has an rrp of £2.

Seasonal brand manager Lindsey Bevan said: “Easter is not just about chocolate. Sugar confectionery experienced year-on-year growth during the Easter period last year; this is because it added variety and great value to the seasonal aisle. To capitalise upon this growth during 2016, retailers should be stocking a range of treats that not only support Easter gifting and hunting but sharing occasions too.

“In 2015 Haribo accounted for over half of all sugar confectionery sales during the Easter period, so there is no doubt that our treats should be a part of the seasonal fixture, especially Jelly Bunnies which is a great addition to our range and an opportunity to drive interest and sales of hanging bags.

“Jelly Bunnies with its soft Jelly Babies texture is complementary to the other core Haribo lines including top selling Starmix and Tangfastics. As it is a seasonal product that sits well within the Easter range, we can offer retailers a treat that appeals during the occasion without impacting on sales of our popular core range.”

The new products join Haribo’s existing Easter offering, which comprises Spring Time Friends and Fizzy Farm Animals sharing bags and an Easter Hunt multipack, containing portion controlled treats.
