Winemaker E&J Gallo Winery has announced plans for a bumper year for its brands.

Barefoot Wine is being given an increase in marketing support for 2012. New to the range is Barefoot Cabernet Sauvignon, rrp £6.49, developed to bring new consumers to the brand. Barefoot Wine will continue its partnership with Surfers Against Sewerage and will be revealing a new celebrity ambassador.

Within the Gallo Family Vineyards wines comes a Moscato sweet white wine with an abv of 8.5% abv, rrp £6.79. The wine has been created on the back of demand for wines which are lighter in alcohol and sweeter. The launch is being supported by a marketing campaign in consumer press, sampling, on-pack promotion and online activity.

In April the Gallo brand will be launching the Gallo Film Club to encourage consumers to organise film clubs at home. A partnership with a major American studio will be revealed and the club will be backed with a Facebook campaign. Neck collars will promote the club.
