Mars is replacing its original Snickers bar with two new variants – More Nuts and More Caramel – for a limited period.

The campaign will be backed by a £1.5m marketing investment, including TV advertising, outdoor and online activity. Mars is also providing split dumpbins so retailers can display the bars alongside each other.

“This is the first time that we have introduced two limited edition products from the same brand at the same time,” says trade communications manager Bep Dhaliwal. “We will be supporting retailers to get behind the campaign to drive trial and awareness.”

Snickers is the UK’s number three bar and grew by 20.9% in 2012, according to Mars.
