Londis has labelled 2011 as its most successful year for growth from multi-site operators.

The symbol group saw 65 new stores owned by multi-site operators join the fascia in 2011. These included FW Kerridge in South England and the Chelvam Group which operates a mix of nine convenience and forecourt stores in Scotland and England.

The group also saw existing members open new stores in 2011. Penny Petroleum & Top Spot Services Group, which started trading with Londis in March 2009, opened four new sites last year and are currently investing in a £120,000 store in Scotland that will become its flagship site.

Sales director Paul Courtney said: “We are delighted that these major operators have chosen to partner with Londis and develop their businesses with us. These are challenging economic times and we will continue to strengthen our offer to Londis retailers, putting our retail partners at the heart of all that we do.”
