Batleys' West Bromwich branch in Birmingham was named cash and carry branch of the year at the Bestway performance awards last week.
The awards are designed to recognise branches and departments that achieve an excellent working relationship with staff and suppliers. Manager Paul Rabone received a trophy and prize money of £3,000 on behalf of his staff at the ceremony at London's Royal Courts of Justice.
Sajid Mahmood of Bestway's branch in Bolton, Lancashire, was named manager of the year, with Robert Reid of Batleys in Cleveland named runner-up. The runner-up branch of the year was Bestway in Manchester.
United Biscuits was named as supplier of the year, with Constellation Wines winning the accolade for the most innovative supplier.
