United Biscuits (UB) is visiting wholesale depots across the UK this month in a bid to show retailers how to increase their savoury biscuit sales.

The ‘Snack Happy’ tour will see UB visit 22 depots, where dedicated Jacob’s ambassadors will be on hand to explain the company’s Five-Step ‘Better Biscuits, Better Business’ plan.

Displays will show off a range of display solutions for retailers to take away, along with special promotional deals on the day. As part of the activity, UB will also be offering retailers that take advantage of the deals the chance to win a £100 pre-loaded fuel card, with one to be won in each depot on the tour.

United Biscuits trade communications controller Hena Chandarana commented: “We believe there is a huge sales opportunity for biscuits in the Impulse trade with an £18m retail sales value opportunity still to be unlocked in the convenience sector. However, manufacturers have a job to do in order to help retailers decide which products they need to stock to achieve this.

The team will visit Bestway, Park Royal and Parfetts, Aintree on October 13; Bestway Park Royal and Manchester, October 14; Bestway Croydon and Manchester, October 15; Dhamecha Barking and Blakemores Birmingham, October 16; Dhamecha Barking and Blakemores Walsall, October 17; Parfetts Stockport, October 20; BA Cardiff and Parfetts Sheffield, October 21; Parfetts Somercoats October 22; and Blakemores Wolverhampton on October 23.
