Costcutter retailers have paid tribute to director Julia Graves, who passed away after collapsing at the group’s offices in Dunnington, York.

Julia was extremely popular among staff and retail members and helped build the company which was formed in 1986 with Colin Graves.

In her position as personnel and administration director, Julia organised and attended many company events, was highly respected in the industry and was active within many charities.

Costcutter retailer Mark Terrell praised Julia’s hard work and commented: “It was at events such as conferences that Julia came into her own. She always had a smiling face and was someone whom you could always have a chat with. She was the link between the retailers and the major directors. She was an easy person to get on with and always found time for people. She’ll be greatly missed.”
