The new National Convenience Show replaces the Convenience Retailing Show (CRS) and now includes the Association of Convenience Stores' Summit and The Grocer Lunch, a celebration of top independent retailers and wholesalers. It brings the entire sector together for three days from February 27-March 1.
The event is organised by William Reed Business Media, publisher of Convenience Store. "We think it's time to put the 'convenient' into convenience with a single, national event that is as hardworking and flexible as our retailers are, and which delivers the same convenience and choice that their stores do," managing director of events and exhibitions Andrew Reed said.
ACS chief executive James Lowman added: "Holding ACS Summit at the National Convenience Show will help bring our unique event to a wider audience and allow members to make the best use of their time."
The 2011 show will include an Advice Centre, where visitors to the show can pre-book 20-minute slots with convenience retail gurus on issues of merchandising, product availability and value for money; a live tasting theatre; and Q&A sessions with manufacturers.
Reed added: "This is a sector that lends itself perfectly to face-to-face experience and the personal touch."
