Terry Caton’s Grangewood Stores in Chesterfield was named as Londis Store of the Year at the 2010 Londis conference.

Terry, who also won Large Store of the Year, said he was delighted to have picked up the prize. He praised his entire team for the effort they put in to make customers feel as welcome as possible in the store.

“If you don’t have the right staff in place then customers won’t want to return,” he said. “Customer service is paramount in this sector.”

Other winners on the night included Geoff and Teresa Turner, who won the Londis Small Store of the Year prize for their shop in Selby, North Yorkshire, and Richard & Lynne Cooke, who picked up Forecourt of the Year for Londis in Keswick, Cumbria. Raj Chandegra and the Kay Group won the Multiple Account Convenience Store and Forecourt awards respectively.

The group also celebrated its 50th anniversary on the night and introduced the new Londis Fresh range to retail members.
