Spar is hoping to butter up shoppers and support children with its Festive Feast fundraising sandwich.

For every turkey and seasonal favourites sandwich sold between 21 November and 24 December, 10p will be donated to ChildLine.

Pricemarked at £2.99 the sandwiches are a festive fusion of turkey, bacon, stuffing and cranberry sauce. They are available in Appleby Westward, C J Lang & Co, Blakemore Retail and independent Spar stores.

Spar UK charity controller, Patricia Wheway, said: “Over the past five years, the Spar Festive Feast sandwich has raised £10,000 for the NSPCC and its ChildLine service - a fantastic result on a very limited edition product.

“This year, we are focusing on fundraising for the ChildLine Schools Service. This is a pioneering initiative which has been set up to give primary school children the awareness they need to recognise abuse, and to seek help sooner.”

Spar’s ‘Stop for tea’ campaign is also in full swing, with stores across the UK and Northern Ireland encouraging customers to enjoy an in-store cuppa and raise funds for the ChildLine Schools Service.

Some stores are hosting a range of other fundraising activities, including competitions.
