Scotmid is piloting a new retail concept at its Prestonpans store, focusing on value for money and local products.

The new, value-led store is part of Scotmid’s strategy to diversify its estate and tailor stores to their local area.

The store will stock more products at £1 and a larger range of value products. The new layout of the store is designed to make it easier for customers to identify products that are the best value for money, while the design has been refreshed with a new fascia and colour scheme.

The store now also stocks new product ranges from local and Scottish suppliers, including an in-store bakery from Goodfellow & Steven, one of Scotland’s longest established bakers.

Tom Gibson, marketing manager for Scotmid said: “At Scotmid, we know that a one-size-fits-all approach isn’t the best solution for our stores or our customers, which is why we like to tailor our stores to their local area.

“This new retail concept is all about choosing products that offer the best value for money for our customers, while also making it easier for customers to find lower priced and locally sourced products in-store.”
