Sainsbury’s is to create 665 new jobs at its Bells and Jacksons subsidiaries over the next two years. The move comes as part of a major rollout of its ‘Sainsbury’s at’ stores - 50 are expected to be trading by the end of the year.

A national trading team for the whole of Sainsbury’s convenience will be established at Jacksons’ head office in Melton, Humberside under the leadership of Richard Lancaster. A team led by Lancaster has spent the past six months analysing product ranges and trading terms across the entire estate of Jacksons, Bells and Sainsbury Local stores. Angus Oughtred has taken over the running of both Bells Stores and Jacksons, reporting to Jim McCarthy, following Steven Bell’s decision to leave the business. Jacksons brand development manager Mike Igoe is also leaving to take up a new role as retail director for PayPoint.
