A retrial has been requested after the case against a postmaster accused of staging an armed robbery at his own Cardiff store collapsed.
Amerpreet Taak and ex-employee Mohammed Akram were accused of stealing close to £63,000 from the sub post office in a Costcutter store on Penarth Road in May, but the jury was dismissed after failing to reach a verdict.
The court heard how Amerpreet, who admitted theft, agreed to stage the robbery after it was suggested by his former colleague, who denied involvement.
Amerpreet told police the robbery was a set-up as he hated working at the store.
