Camelot has unveiled the start date for its new game structure which will see prices double to £2 per line.

Announced earlier this year, the new game structure will come into effect on the Saturday October 5 draw, with tickets available from Thursday October 3.

As well as the increase in price per line to £2, changes to the Lotto game include a raffle with at least 50 winners of a guaranteed £20,000 in every draw, bigger prizes for matching three numbers and larger jackpots of £5m on Saturday and £2.5m on Wednesday.

It is also expected that the new prize and game structure will add to the £35m raised by the National Lottery for good causes every week.

Camelot is to kick off its new game structure with two major prize draws. For the October 5 and October 12 draws, 1,000 Lotto raffle winners will be guaranteed to win £20,000 while a £10m jackpot will be up for grabs in the main game.

Camelot sales director Duncan Malyon said the two enhanced draws would encourage repeat purchases and retailers should be ready to remind customers about the extra prizes. “This is an ideal opportunity for retailers to really land the new game with their customers – particularly when, following the first draw, they come back in-store to check their tickets, only to be reminded we’re doing it all over again.”
