Nisa member The Proudfoot Group has donated £500 to Scarborough Ladies Football Club, taking its total charity donations up to £35,000 to date.

The retailer has supported around 100 charities and local causes such as schools, sports clubs, community groups, churches and hospices in Scarborough, North Yorkshire since 2008 through Nisa’s ‘Making a Difference Locally’ scheme.

Valerie Aston, buying and distribution controller for the Proudfoot Group, said: “Our ethos is to help as many charities and good causes within our area as possible, with donations from £100 up to £1,000. The Making a Difference Locally initiative has opened our eyes to the work of the many groups and organisations within our area of the country who are doing invaluable work to help so many, and we are delighted to be able to support them through the Making a Difference Locally charity.”

Proudfoot Newby was also acknowledged for its positive impact on the community in Nisa’s Shop Local competition, which saw the store win £1,000 into its Making a Difference Locally fund.

Earlier this year The Proudfoot Group was awarded the title of Nisa’s ‘Making a Difference Locally Community Champion’ for their continued commitment to the local community.
