The first prepaid card with built-in government-approved proof of age has been launched. The UreLife card combines a prepaid Visa debit card with a colour photograph and PASS accredited proof-of-age hologram.
The card, which costs £12.50 and can be topped up electronically with no additional charges for the user, also carries a printed date of birth. UreLife says it is engaging with c-store chains to develop incentive opportunities.
UreLife director Carl Horne said: "The card is a safer way to carry, manage and spend money. The proof-of-age mechanism will also restrict underage attempts to buy age-restricted products."
