Salary expectations in Northern Ireland are lower than anywhere else in the UK, according to a new survey on pay.
The results are based on the pay expectations of about 850,000 jobseekers who registered with jobs website www.reed.co.uk in the past 12 months.
Northern Irish applicants expected to be paid an average of about £17,500 a year, while the applicants in the south-east of England expected the highest salaries of just over £21,000, followed by East Anglia at £19,679.
The survey also highlighted a substantial gap in pay expectations between men and women. Women on average expected to be paid at least £3,500 less than the average man.
