Nisa retailer Rav Garcha is offering pupils of schools near his Shrewsbury store five free pieces of fruit and five bottles of Robinsons Fruit Shoot Low Sugar through a voucher scheme.

In a bid to encourage children to adopt a healthier diet, Rav gave every pupil a letter with five vouchers attached which could be exchanged for an individual piece of fruit along with a 275ml Robinsons Fruit Shoot Low Sugar for their lunchbox at his Gains Park store.

Only one voucher can be used per visit to encourage children to have a piece of fruit in their lunchbox every day, and to drive footfall to the store.

In addition, each exchanged voucher will be entered into a prize draw to win an Amazon Kindle, which will be drawn during a school assembly.

“Our store is an important part of the local community and we try to help the people in the community as much as we can,” Rav said.

“Ensuring children have a healthy diet is important to us and we offer a large range of fruit and vegetables in store and hope that this voucher scheme will help children not only learn about and recognise the fresh produce available but also encourage them to eat more fruit as a snack.”

The vouchers are valid until 27 December 2013.
