A London c-store operator has teamed up with Nisa-Today’s to trial a new café concept next door to their store.

Farhana and Saleem Mohammed have been working with the symbol group for 12 months to develop the Café Nisa concept, which has opened in an 800sq ft unit next to their existing 3,000sq ft Nisa Local store in Isleworth. The café, which will trade from 7am-10pm, seven days a week, serves a wide range of coffees, pastries and hot snacks, and houses a chilled section that includes soft drinks and noodle salads.

Farhana said: “We spent the first 18 months since we opened our store listening to feedback from our customers, most of whom are students, young professionals and commuters. From this we have been able to identify opportunities for growth, one of which is the new café. It has taken a lot of research, development and investment but I am confident it is going to be a success.

“It fits our location and our customer base exactly and we’re excited to be the first to trial it.” Although the café is at the moment in its trial stage, Nisa-Today’s has left the door open on whether it will be introduced elsewhere. Nisa-Today’s group symbol development director John Heagney said: “Obviously, the success of the concept is location-based and is very much an experiment to see how it is received. We’re delighted with the unit in Isleworth and excited about its future.”
