Nisa has kicked off its Cider Festival which it hopes will build on the success of last year’s event which achieved almost £1m in extra cider sales.

The three-week event, which runs until April 16, aims to drive footfall and sales with themed point of sale material to create “in-store theatre”, and competitive pricing and offers on a varied cider selection.

Last year’s event resulted in a 74% increase in sales of ciders feature in the festival.

Ciders on promotion during the festival include 500ml bottles of Rekorderlig, Stella Cidre and Old Mout ciders at three for £5, Kopparberg 10x330ml at £10, individual bottles of Magners, Stella Cidre and Blind Pig at £1.50 each and Kingstone Press 12x440ml at £5.99.

Leanne Jarrett, trading controller for beer, sales and cider, was confident this year’s event would provide a competitive offer for members and customers with some “market-leading” deals.

“We hope the event will once again help to drive an uplift in sales and footfall for our members and help them to make the most of key trends within the convenience sector.”
