The NFRN Mutual is adopting a new trading name, the Retail Mutual, as it seeks to expand its services to a wider retail community.

The Retail Mutual is an alternative to traditional insurance and supports independent retailers looking for business, home and landlord cover. 

After supporting its independent newsagent members for over 17 years, the Retail Mutual will now embark on a growth plan to expand its membership and extend its product offerings to a wider range of independent retailers.

The Retail Mutual pledges to remain committed to its core membership of newsagents and convenience stores while broadening its focus and growth strategy. 

Peter Wagg, The Retail Mutual chairman, said: “This is an exciting development for the Mutual, and is the culmination of extensive research and planning. We take great pride in the community we have built and we look forward to being able to extend this sense of community to the broader independent retail sectors.”  

The Retail Mutual said it offers better group buying leverage, adopts a more sympathetic approach to claims handling and creates a sense of community that helps it to stand apart from the competition.
