New convenience group Today Retail has added a third store to its portfolio and plans further expansion.

The company, which aims to specialise in convenience stores within large offices, business parks, train and bus stations, airports and large workplaces, is to open a third London store, on Baker Street.

The company stepped up its growth plans after it secured external investment to enable it to expand more quickly. Director Jason Matthews said: "We are now in a position to proactively seek retail space, primarily in office complexes where the Today concept is proven to be an asset to employers, employees and landlords."

Mike Clare, founder and president of bed retailer Dreams, has joined Today as non-executive chairman.

"I am very excited about joining the Today Retail team, which already has created an innovative concept where the outlets perfectly complement their surroundings, ensuring that landlords are more than satisfied with the outcome," he said.

"We are currently seeking available space within large offices or bespoke retail space within new office developments that attract businesses with high headcount."
