Musgrave Retail Partners GB has made around 80 people redundant as part of a restructure of its head office and supply chain.

The Londis and Budgens brand owner said the reorganisation was necessary and the first step in Musgrave’s turnaround plan for its GB business.

Peter Ridler, managing director of Musgrave Retail Partners GB, said: “We are working on a turnaround programme for our business to ensure we deliver the best offer and services for our retail partners and shoppers.

“The first step in that programme is ensuring our own business operates efficiently, in terms of costs and structure. I regret very much that the reorganisation will impact around 80 roles in our head office in Harefield and supply chain.

“Turning around the business in GB will take time and addressing the challenges will mean implementing fundamental improvements to our ways of working. The restructuring of our business is part of that process and is one of a number of initiatives under the turnaround plan to return the business to profitability.

“We are reviewing how we develop our brands, buy product, manage costs and improve our offer to shoppers. We are also improving our service to retailers to help them better compete in the market.”
