Cambridgeshire retailer Jonathan James is to become the first independent forecourt owner to open a Marks and Spencer Simply Food outlet.

Witchford Road Service Station, which is supplied by BP, will host the first trial of a Simply Food forecourt franchise outside the oil giant's own estate. It is expected to open in the Spring.

BP currently has 113 Simply Food stores among its 350 wholly-owned sites.
