The Association of News Retailing (ANR) has branded attempts by publishers and wholesalers to draft a new magazine code of practice as “desperate and unnecessary”.
Despite the Office of Fair Trading’s (OFT) provisional decision to lift the restriction on exclusive territories for magazines, a cross-industry group of publishers and wholesalers is working on a new magazine code of practice. ANR managing director John Lennon believes the group should focus on developing a more innovative supply chain.
