Merseyrail has opened the first of its 'M To Go' combined
c-stores and ticket offices.
The store, at Moorfield underground station in Liverpool, is the first of its kind in the UK and the concept will eventually be rolled out across a selection of Merseyrail's 66 station sites.
The company has developed the 'M to Go' format, which is based on the Dutch retailer Albert Heijn, with supply partner Nisa-Today's. The focus is predominantly on chilled and food to go.
The Moorfield store carries an extensive range of sandwiches, ready meals, chilled snacks and drinks, confectionery, newspapers and magazines. There is also a bake-off fixture.
Two further 'M to Go' stores are also being developed.
