The Health Lottery is to introduce a Quick Pick cards to help cut transaction times for retailers and customers.

The cards, similar to the Health Lottery playcards which store a player’s chosen numbers, will be available from dispensers in stores and only need to be scanned by the retailer to process a Quick Pick transaction.

Health Lottery head of sales Andy Mallows said the cards would reduce the time it takes to process a ticket. “We understand the importance of rapid transaction times, and we have listened to trade press and have come back with a brilliant solution,” he said. “Now retailers and players can experience Health Lottery transactions of just three seconds.”

The Quick Pick cards will be rolled out to McColl’s, WM Morrisons and Co-op stores this month with all Health Lottery retailers set to have them by December.

The society lottery has also introduced a limited edition prize tier where player who match two balls will receive a free Health Lottery ticket. The prize tier will run up until the 7 December draw. It is hoped the prize will encourage customers to return to stores.

“We have had a significant number of new players and this promotion will reward them for joining The Health Lottery,” added Mallows. “The huge increase in winners will see many players returning to their local retailer to claim their free ticket, which we know will drive footfall over a period which is incredibly important for retailers.”
