Applications to join the Thresher Group franchise scheme have passed the 1,000 mark, company bosses say.
Under the scheme, applicants pay £20,000 plus stock value to take on a store as their own business. After the initial payment, franchisees pay an occupancy fee and a percentage of the turnover to Threshers.
The company says the scheme means retailers can decide on their own range and promotions and also enjoy the group's purchasing power.
Franchise development manager Fyl Newington said: "We're offering an affordable way for people to buy into a ready-made business, backed by one of the best- known brands in the UK, so it's no wonder interest levels are high."
