Hundreds of government websites are to be to shut in an attempt to streamline information.
Of 951 sites, just 26 will definitely stay, 551 will close and hundreds more closures are expected to follow. Instead, information will be available through two main sites - Directgov and Business Link.
It is thought the move will save the government about £9m a year over the next three years.
In addition to Directgov and Business Link, a site will remain for each government department as well as other sites for services including NHS Direct.
A report on government strategy, published earlier this month, revealed that 90 sites had already closed.
