British consumers are among the biggest spenders when it comes to eating out, beating
the French by nearly £200 a head.
Brits spend an average of £1,224 each a year eating and drinking out, says Datamonitor, and this figure is set to rise to £1,335 by 2010.
We Brits are second only to the Italians who spend £1,265 a year.
The research analysts predict that an extra 5.3 billion breakfasts, lunches, evening meals and snacks will be consumed outside the home in Britain in 2010.
