A c-store retailer who was caught selling counterfeit DVDs has been ordered to pay nearly £4,000 in costs.
Chandra Patel, manager of Cheetham News And Wines in Manchester, pleaded guilty to eight counts of possession
of DVDs bearing fake trademarks.
They were discovered during a routine visit by trading standards officers and were then sent to the Federation Against Copyright Theft, which confirmed they had been printed with bogus logos of film companies.
Councillor Neil Swannick said: "The size of this fine reflects how seriously the courts will treat this offence."
