One Stop has now signed up more than 75 stores to its franchise programme.
Over 50 of these are currently trading with the group, the majority of which are fully refitted as One Stop stores. The remainder have had epos installed and will undergo refits in the coming months.
The latest franchise site to open is Dee Sedani’s former Londis store in Etwall, Derbyshire, which is the second of his outlets to convert to One Stop. The store officially re-opened on Friday 12 December, with a community launch event held the following day.
Dee said: “Before I moved my Matlock store to One Stop Franchise, I was confident that it would prove to be the right decision for my business. Even so, I was pleasantly surprised at just how good the operation is and what a difference it’s made to my staff and the local community. Sales are up, the store is run more efficiently and the feedback from my customers has been incredible.
“When it came to considering the options for my Etwall store, it really was a no-brainer! I can’t wait for the Etwall community to benefit in the same way. It’s early days, but we’ve already had great comments about the extended choice in chilled and the cheaper prices and better range overall.”
Another recent recruit is Tom and Kay Bains’ shop in Chester Road, Brownhills, within a mile of the franchise group’s head office and the first ever One Stop branded store in the town. Trading as Londis for the previous 15 years, the store will be extended and refitted in late January with a focus on creating more space for promotional bays.
One Stop franchise director Andrew King said: “We’re delighted to have passed the 75 store mark since our launch at the end of January this year and it’ll be great to have a franchise store right on our doorstep. We’ve stayed true to our model and will continue to grow on a steady but scalable basis.
“Our pipeline as we head into 2015 shows that we’re an exciting proposition for good independent retailers. We’re looking forward to working with our existing franchisees to deliver a successful and profitable Christmas.”
