A security box containing a large amount of cash was stolen from a Hampshire c-store when a store assistant was distracted.
A man told the assistnat at the McColls store in Lymington that he had come in to pick up a key, which he had left in the store earlier.
The member of staff looked in a back room for the key and then informed the man he could not find it.
However, after the man had left the sales assistant noticed that the store’s office door had been opened and the security box taken.
